Gene Expression-Based Glioma Classification Using Hierarchical Bayesian Vector Machines
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper considers several Bayesian classification methods for the analysis of the glioma cancer with microarray data based on reproducing kernel Hilbert space under the multiclass setup. We consider the multinomial logit likelihood as well as the likelihood related to the multiclass Support Vector Machine (SVM) model. It is shown that our proposed Bayesian classification models with multiple shrinkage parameters can produce more accurate classification scheme for the glioma cancer compared to several existing classical methods. We have also proposed a Bayesian variable selection scheme for selecting the differentially expressed genes integrated with our model. This integrated approach improves classifier design by yielding simultaneous gene selection. AMS (2000) subject classification. Primary 62G08, 62H30, 68T05, 68T10.

Feature Selection and Classification of Microarray Gene Expression Data of Ovarian Carcinoma Patients using Weighted Voting Support Vector Machine
We can reach by DNA microarray gene expression to such wealth of information with thousands of variables (genes). Analysis of this information can show genetic reasons of disease and tumor differences. In this study we try to reduce high-dimensional data by statistical method to select valuable genes with high impact as biomarkers and then classify ovarian tumor based on gene expression data of...
متن کاملBayesian Multicategory Support Vector Machines
We show that the multi-class support vector machine (MSVM) proposed by Lee et al. (2004) can be viewed as a MAP estimation procedure under an appropriate probabilistic interpretation of the classifier. We also show that this interpretation can be extended to a hierarchical Bayesian architecture and to a fully-Bayesian inference procedure for multiclass classification based on data augmentation....

Support vector machine (SVM) has been successfully applied for cancer tumor classification based on thousands of gene expression measurements. A modification of SVM known as hybrid Huberized support vector machine (HHSVM) has been developed for the same purpose along with an in built gene selection mechanism with the help of elastic-net penalty. In this paper we develop a Bayesian formulation o...
متن کاملA Bayesian hybrid Huberized support vector machine and its applications in high-dimensional medical data
The hybrid Huberized support vector machine (HHSVM) with the elastic-net penalty has been developed for cancer tumor classification based on thousands of gene expression measurements. In this paper, we develop a Bayesian formulation of the hybrid Huberized support vector machine for binary classification. For the coefficients of linear classification boundary, we propose a new type of prior, wh...

This paper is based on a combination of the principal component analysis (PCA), eigenface and support vector machines. Using N-fold method and with respect to the value of N, any person’s face images are divided into two sections. As a result, vectors of training features and test features are obtain ed. Classification precision and accuracy was examined with three different types of kernel and...
